Optimizing the scheduling of operation and maintenance activities

The use of a wind speed and other severe event forecasts can optimize the scheduling of operation and maintenance activities.

The following example of a wind speed forecast used for this purpose indicates high probabilities of strong wind speeds from the East for the first day (10th of December) and for the following day (the 11th).

If O&M activities were planned to start on the 10th, with this information cost, effective decisions can be made, like postponing any operation until the 12th, as high wind speeds will make it impossible to work both on the 10th and 11th.
